MILLTOWN (1957-58) Back to Gallery Ian grew up and studied in Leeds and this series of prints demonstrates his intimate connection with his home town. Prints from the series were exhibited at the AIA Gallery, Lisle Street, Leicester Square (along with Keith Armour amongst others) and in an international touring exhibition titled ‘Contemporary prints from Great Britain’. This exhibition was very prestigious and 2 works ("The City" and "Mill Town") were exhibited alongside other notable artists - Gertrude Hermes, Terry Frost and Julian Trevelyan. The print titled ‘Townscape with two churches’ is in the collection of the City of Sheffield Art Gallery. |
